The North East of England is generally a nice place to live in. The majority of
people here are law abiding and friendly citizens. But just like anywhere in the
world, there are trouble makers, racist individuals and criminals.
We strongly recommend that any person who faces any sort of racial attack or
discrimination should contact the police immediately. Please don't believe the
common perception that the police will not act. In the majority of cases the
police reacts firmly and promptly.
Please inform the Islamic Human rights commission (IHRC) as soon as any case
happens. It is very important and vital to report all incidents to both the
Police and IHRC. If you don't do this, you are not only abandoning your right,
but you are also letting such individuals repeat their abuses towards someone
else.
